Objectives (based on the TEKS, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills)
*TLW develop manipulative skills
*TLW (develop fine motor muscles in order to) gain increasing control of
penmanship such as pencil grip, paper position and beginning stroke

This center is basically an extension of the fine motor
center. It is great for fine motor coordination and they
love it.
Here's what they do:
*Students use a hole punch to
punch holes around the
perimeter (of a shape, letter,
or outline of a unit-based
object... pig, leaf, tree, etc.).
Then they sew through the holes.
