First, we asked Texas A&M University's Poultry
Science Department for fertilized chicken eggs.
Next, we placed them in the incubator.
Then, we candled them every few days to see
how the chicks are developing inside the eggs.
We even listened to them peep using a
stethoscope!
Then after 21 days, they began to hatch.
The classes were amazed at how quickly they
grew that first week.
When we've finished studying them, the chicks
find a home at a local "farm."
